Eastern Food Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers dedicated to saving food from landfill and supplying it to those in the community who need it.

​We collect fresh surplus food and distribute it daily via our 'market' in Ringwood. We also stock our community pantries which are accessible 24/7 in Mitcham and Ringwood.

Eastern Food Rescue wishes to thank Maroondah City Council for its amazing support of EFR and our mission to reduce food insecurity and food waste, combat climate change, and make a difference in our local community.
Because of Maroondah City Council's 2025/26 Emergency Relief Grant, EFR has been able to purchase much-needed refrigeration equipment. This has increased the amount of cold, fresh food we have been able to provide to the community, and allowed us to better ensure nobody misses out.
​This grant is just one of the many ways that Maroondah City Council helps organisations like ours to make a difference.
